Low-fat dairy = infertility?

Low-fat dairy infertility warning

A diet rich on low-fat dairy food may make it harder for some women to conceive, according to a study involving thousands of US women.

Harvard researchers found women who frequently ate these foods were 85% more likely to have ovulation problems.

In contrast, the Human Reproduction study found eating full-fat dairy foods, including ice cream, cut the risk of this type of infertility...

Perhaps proof that chocolate and everything diary are not the root of gourmet evils.

Alarming is the frequency these scientific reports cautioning on consumption of one food or another. Such trying times when food is regarded as a scourge. What was once a subject of our sustenance, with such high regarded as to drive empires to war, is present in abundance today.

Men need not worry of the lack of food, instead they are concerned over the choice of food. A careful choice of a balanced diet is highly desirable. We are what we eat and if we eat well, we will be well.

It is not the food that poisons our body. Yet we hear so much of our diet is "carcinogenic", "bad" and anything but good. A hundred years ago, who who have fathomed that butter would kill you? Then, you would be glad to even have butter to begin with.

In those times, food was scarce. Now, we are plagued by over consumption and convenience. Instant food, fast food, food that is readily accessible and available for consumption immediately. Foods brimming with these egregious killers such as fats, cholesterol and the more recent carbohydrates.

We are eating too much of those, that is the crux of the problem. Simply put, too much of anything is detrimental to health. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing. Even vitamin supplements.

Vitamins 'could shorten lifespan'

I wouldn't recommend consuming hundred of vitamin pills to begin with. Vitamins are "vital minerals" needed in trace amounts for healthy development of the human body. Logically speaking, if you put in a thousand-fold, the required amount, something has to give.

Greed. Simply put.

A balanced diet is more important than only 500mg of vitamin C. So, eat in moderation, choose well what you eat and enjoy the meal whilst at it.

And my personal take? Eating shouldn't be just about stuffing the face. It must be enjoyed, with friends, with good company, good ambience. Good food, varied food, and good enjoyed with good company. Now that is the way to dine.

A nice glass of wine with the very best of friends, with wholesome food prepared fresh. Perfect view with suitable music in the background, and thoughtful conversation. Just a little closer to paradise. It's nice, really nice.

Mr Sandman, oh Sandman

Mr. Sandman

(scat “bung, bung, bung, bung..........)

Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream (bung, bung, bung, bung)
Make him the cutest that I've ever seen (bung, bung, bung, bung)
Give him two lips like roses and clover (bung, bung, bung, bung)
Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.
Sandman, I'm so alone
Don't have nobody to call my own
Please turn on your magic beam
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.

(scat “bung, bung, bung, bung.….)

Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream
Make him the cutest that I've ever seen
Give him the word that I'm not a rover
Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.
Sandman, I'm so alone
Don't have nobody to call my own
Please turn on your magic beam
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.

(scat “bung, bung, bung, bung)

Mr. Sandman (male voice: “Yesss?) bring us a dream
Give him a pair of eyes with a “come-hither” gleam
Give him a lonely heart like Pagliacci
And lots of wavy hair like Liberace
Mr Sandman, someone to hold (someone to hold)
Would be so peachy before we're too old
So please turn on your magic beam
Mr Sandman, bring us, please, please, please
Mr Sandman, bring us a dream.

(scat “bung, bung, bung, bung….)

Modern cover of that beautifully cutesy song, and enjoy the version by the Andrews Sisters too.
Extremely surprised is the keyword for the day.
My lousy score was good for 15th position at the SP Open.
Ostensible was irritation on my face, but what the heck, it's so childish.
Resisting temptation is hardly an easy task, especially in the form of food.
I think people should be more real.
Especially when it concerns others.
Sadly, people are usually stuck in their own little microcosm.

Oh well, people do what they can in the circumstances they find themselves in.
Fortunately, hope still exists in the world, little but there.

Yellowed papers rustling in the cold wind brings back memories of older days.
On such days, where the past seems more joyful
Unless it was all a dream and a lie.

Swim, Stand like a rock.

"In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock." – Thomas Jefferson

There is a certain gratification to sticking with one's beliefs. With a conviction in princples, there exist a vision which to strive for. The style of execution is the variable that can be altered to achieve the vision. Principles serve as flagstones marking out the path in life. To believe in them is to set and follow a course through choppy waters.

Just like in life, people navigate rough seas. It is hard to steer a course, much less keep a bearing. The temptation is to sail with accordance with desires, or to let the wind take control. But in the tempermental ocean, let your principles be the compass.

A valuable lesson learnt whilst under Chye Ping. "Set the mission statement, then follow it through to fruitation in a common understanding of the shared vision."

Without direction, the difficult task of navigating stormy waves, is simply impossible. what Jefferson says, "In matters of style, swim with the current", means to drift with the current when it overpowers. Strength is wasted trying to fight it, strength that is needed to swin further distances. To swim with the current with regards to the style of execution, keeping in mind to steer in the destination that was originally in mind.

Principles are not the destination, but priciples helpd determine the destination. Principles affect the actions of people, each and every decision, influenced by the principles that people believe in. Principles need to be strong, not necessarily unmoving, but strong enough to withstand the current for more than a moment.

The basic principles of people's lives determine what is and what they are. Principles exist for a reason, that they are a distillation of human aspirations that have survived the ravages of time. Hold on to them, for they might not seem beneficial at present, but in future, they could prove to be a better decision.

You'll never know, that is reason to discorage fickle changing of priciples. What has failed is a result of factors both within and without control. Committment. To try again when it fails, to continue believing in it despite everyone. Wrong once, not wrong forever. Mistakes are made to learn from.

Eventually, time may erode the stone, but time changes everything. We need to believe regardless. Princples. Basic principles.

Beauty and the Beast

I love this song! In fact, I love most of the classical Disney songs. Love, romance, and fantasy in a light-hearted, pure world. So quite pleasent and different from ours.

Something there that wasn't there before
Beauty And The Beast

There's something sweet and almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
And now he's dear and so unsure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before

She glanced this way, I thought I saw
And when we touched she didn't shudder at my paw
No, it can't be I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before

New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see

Well who'd have thought
Well bless my soul
Well who'd have known
Well who indeed
And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own
It's so peculiar
We'll wait and see
a few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before
You know perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before
There may be something there that wasn't there before
